Some families in our practice have received a letter this week about a new policy here at Tamalpais Pediatrics. Starting this month, we are requiring that all patients in our practice receive the MMR vaccine by age 2, or they will be asked to leave our practice.
This decision was made with much thought and careful consideration, and is based on our knowlege of the safety of vaccines and the danger to our patients and our community of a Measles outbreak. Our goal is to protect our patients to the best of our ability. Vaccines, and especially the MMR, are an important part of this effort.
